Welcome to our forum at Carers Linked Up!

To be able to post on our forum you need to be a young carer in the area. You can participate in the forum, staff will moderate comments and they will be accepted and added to the forum on the basis that they are appropriate and follow our guidelines – it’s that simple! You can also use our contact form if interested and want more info – Please have a read at our forum rules.

      1. Be kind to each other: Many people using the online community are going through a difficult time and a few kind words can go a long way. Please welcome new posters and be especially nice to them. Celebrate difference and disagree respectfully, be sensitive to the feelings and opinions of others – you might not always agree, but you can agree to disagree in a peaceful manner.

      2. Keep it friendly: Don’t post anything that would intentionally upset someone or treat them unfairly because of their race, gender, sexuality or beliefs.

      3. Avoid feeding the trolls: Some people enjoy getting a reaction, and post nasty comments just to provoke a response.

      4. Be effective: Use your community to both give and receive the support and information that you need. Sharing experiences is at the heart of the community, but please be careful not to give medical advice.

      5. We’ll try to be fair: Sometimes we might have to remove posts from the community if people don’t follow the guidelines. This doesn’t happen often but we’ll try to explain why. Following these guidelines should mean that we don’t need to do this very often.

      6. Don’t identify professionals by name: Please feel free to share your experiences of receiving services but be careful to not identify any health professionals by name as this could be unfair to them and potential legal issues.

      7. Stay safe online: Never post your personal details anywhere on the community and please report anything you think is suspicious.

      8. Get in touch: Our Social Media Coordinator is always here to chat. If you have any comments on our guidelines or how we moderate, please send an email to our Social Media Coordinator, or private message her at lauren@carerslink.org.uk It’s your community and we’re always looking to make the online community even better.
